If these sound like your values too, Strut the Pup might be the best match for your pet care needs.
We do pretty much all things pet-related! Dog walking, off-leash park trips, overnight pet sitting, cat visits, pet taxi, even at-home dog baths (for regular clients)! See our full Services page. In addition, we have a regular, on-staff Canine Behaviorist for any training needs you have.
When are you available for service? All day, every day - including holidays and weekends; we don't take days off because pets don't!
What areas do you service?See our Service Area Map. We're dog walkers and pet sitters in the following areas: Seattle - Broadmoor, First Hill, Capitol Hill, Pioneer Square, Belltown, Madrona, Lake Union, Montlake, Queen Anne, Fremont, Wallingford, Loyal Heights, Whittier Heights, Sunset Hill, University District, Ravenna, Phinney Ridge, Ballard, Green Lake, MapleLeaf, Bryant, Laurelhurst, Windermere, View Ridge, Sand Point, Leschi, Mount Baker, Madison Park and others. The Eastside - Mercer Island, Bellevue, Medina, Clyde Hill, Hunts Point, Kirkland.
Who are your pet care professionals? Our Pack Leaders and Pet Sitters are the most sincere pet lovers out there. Our pets are our babies, and we would never hire someone we wouldn't be completely comfortable leaving our furry family members with ourselves. Before being hired we thoroughly screen and perform a detailed background check on each new staff member. See more information above on our staff training in the "What makes us different" section.
What if I need to cancel a regular walk? Or, how do I add an extra walk? You can call, text or email us at any time. We only require 24 hours notice for a cancelled walk.
Do you do pack walks? We will walk up to three dogs at a time ONLY IF they are all in the same household or if your dog/s have neighborhood friends and we have arranged the walks with all owners beforehand. We don’t believe that walking 4 or more dogs at one time is a safe activity in an urban environment. Nor does it allow us to tailor the walks to an individual dog's needs or preferences.
When do you walk dogs?Any time you need us! Some clients prefer the morning, others midday, and others late afternoon or evening. We’re flexible - just let us know what you need! Please note that we do have additional weekend and early-morning/late-evening fees.
When is payment due? What types of payment do you accept? All clients are invoiced on a biweekly schedule. You will receive an invoice via email every two weeks for the previous two weeks of service. You may leave a credit or debit card (Visa or Mastercard) on file for automatic billing, or mail in a check - it's completely up to you. Please note that we do require a 50% deposit to secure overnight pet sitting dates.
I don’t need a weekly dog walker, I just need someone to watch my dog or cat when I go out of town. Do you provide vacation care?We sure do! Please note that priority goes to regular, weekly clients in the case of too many requests (occurs occasionally around the holidays).
What happens if it's rainy or snowy out?Hey, this is the Pacific Northwest - if we didn't walk in the rain we wouldn't last very long! We are out and about every day, regardless of the weather. If conditions are unsafe for travel (extreme storms or snow days) we will notify you as early as possible that your scheduled visits may be delayed or cancelled.
What does Strut the Pup do to support local pet rescues, shelters and non-profit organizations? We are very active in the Northwest pet world. We donate regularly to many organizations, including PAWS, The Humane Society, Seattle Animal Shelter, K-Dog, C.O.L.A., the Detlef Schrempf Foundation, and others. We strive to be a responsible and recognized leader when it comes to building better lives for PNW pets.
Is Strut the Pup a huge conglomerated franchise? We get this question pretty frequently and the answer is a huge NO WAY! Owners Tom and Meaghan started Strut the Pup and built it from scratch. We are born and raised in the Seattle area and we've tailored our business to cater to Pacific Northwest pet owners. Local businesses make the Seattle area the vibrant, fun area it is. When you use Strut the Pup you can rest assured that your money stays local - not sent across the country to a corporate headquarters somewhere else.
This all sounds awesome, how do I set up service?Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, fill out our contact form, or give us a call at 206.484.3696. We'll set up an initial consultation to introduce ourselves, answer any questions you might have, and set up a schedule. Initial consultations are completely free of charge.
