Go Back

There is a new trend in vacationing, and while it may not be for everyone, it can certainly be more rewarding than laying on a beach and relaxing day after day. You still get to travel to exotic places, but now you can help dogs in those countries, with a volunteer vacation.
As was seen in the post on Dogs Riding the Subway, stray dogs can be fairly prevalent in countries outside of North America and Western Europe. Vets Beyond Borders are traveling the world and helping the stray dog population by collecting, vaccinating, and spaying and neutering them. As a volunteer you get to help the dogs before and after surgery and you can help the vets by taking down intake information before they head in for surgery.
For more on this issue and to hear from someone that has actually been a volunteer in these clinics check out this article.
