There is an increasing number of programs that use animals to help children learn at schools. There are therapy dogs that help children learn to read, dogs that wander libraries to help decrease stress during finals, and now there are dogs to help stop bullying. No More Bullies is a program developed by a former teacher turned humane educator at an animal rescue. Trained volunteers travel to schools for an hour a day 5 days a week. They bring dogs to help bring home the lessons learned on tolerance and compassion. What a great idea! Read more about this program here.
